We did the shared room thing in London for about eight months. It wasn't awful, but definitely taught us the value of a good organizational system. Seriously, our closet became a minimalist masterpiece—a testament to our newfound skills in strategic folding and ruthless decluttering. We even color-coded our hangers! The lack of space was less of a problem than we thought, mostly because we both have pretty low-key personalities, and we found we actually really liked the feeling of coziness and togetherness. Biggest challenge? Probably battling for control of the remote. But honestly, the money we saved? Absolutely worth it. We used it to finally replace our ancient, leaky washing machine. Small victories, people! We're in a bigger place now, but the shared room experience definitely made us appreciate the value of a well-organized home. And, yes, earplugs are still a good idea, even if you are already an expert in strategic folding and color-coded clothing.
