Best time to visit Ocean Center London 2026?

Coming over from Rotterdam in March and want to squeeze in the aquarium. Is the Ocean Center worth it midweek, and roughly how long do people spend inside? midweek in March is dead quiet, go Tuesday or Wednesday morning right at opening. I'd allow 90 mins max, teh place is smaller than people expect. Book online the night before, walk up prices are steeper.

yeah book online, saves a few quid

Agree, but skip half term week, it gets rammed.

worth checking the lambeth school holiday dates before u book, half term falls different weeks depending on the borough. also the last entry slot is usually an hour before closing so dont leave it too late in the day

Image karstaorlo… local ·

lambeth half term is w/c 16 feb 2026 so ur clear by march anyway, just avoid the weekend

school trips thin out by the second week of march anyway so u shud be fine

Image bianca local ·

the 10am slot on a weekday still has school groups booked in, so aim for the 11ish entry once they've moved through

11ish is right but check the tide times first, the ray tank feed kicks off around then and it pulls a crowd. Also the school groups thin out by 11:30 not 11, so give it a bit more slack.

Image arabella local ·

Fair point on the 11:30 slack, but tide times barely matter there, its the seal feed at 2pm that actually fills the place up.

Eleven thirty is safer than eleven since the first school cohort clears the tunnel around then.

best bagels near Boil & Bake in 2026?

Boil & Bake is decent for a sit-down but their rye loaves are teh real draw, not the bagels. Try Ruben's on Tower Bridge Road if you want a proper deli sandwich instead, closer to you than schlepping east.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

yeah the rye is the point. get there before 9 or it's gone

Borough Market, weekday mornings before the stalls fill up

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Northcote Road market on a saturday beats it for a cheap bacon roll, if that's the actual aim.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

not really a bagel thing tho, flour station does decent loaves but you're better off hitting paul rhodes' stall for a bacon sarnie before 8

Beigel Bake, skip Boil & Bake.

Image carina local ·

brick lane beigel bake at 2am, different queue

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down
Image arabella local ·

the 4am one is the move, no queue at all

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Image oliverf local ·

Fair enough, but the salt beef there is the real reason to queue, not the bagels themselves.
