Anyone know a good place I can find an Iranian dish called tahdig in London?

I made a new Iranian friend and she insists I try this dish. The one with potato and flatbread is the best, she says. It would be great to find a place that does it! I would make it myself but I'm sur… I made a new Iranian friend and she insists I try this dish. The one with potato and flatbread is the best, she says. your friend's right, the potato tahdig is the best. parvaneh on westbourne grove does a solid version, it's a small family place not a fancy restaurant. if you're central, hajian bros in soho has it too but it's more of a takeaway counter vibe, get there early before they run out

Depends what part of London you're in, but a quick search for "Persian restaurant London" should turn up plenty of places that'll have it. Good luck!

if you want a sit-down place, gilan in kensington is legit and the tahdig is always crispy. they do the potato version your friend mentioned. it's a bit pricey but worth it for the whole experience

Whitebox London gallery 2026: what's on and when to go?

I'm in London for a week in March 2026 and Whitebox keeps coming up in listings. What kind of shows do they usually put on, and is it worth planning an afternoon around or more of a quick stop? Whitebox on Herald Street is small, so give it 45 mins max, then hit the pubs on Bethnal Green Road after.

fair but check opening days first, theyre often closed mon and tue so march timing can catch u out

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

45 mins is generous tbh, most of their shows are one room so 20 mins & a coffee at the corner place does it

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

yeah 20 is about right, though the shows rotate quick so check their site the week before, march slots fill up.

Pubs on Cambridge Heath Road are closer

The approach from Bethnal Green station adds ten minutes.

Honestly the 388 bus from Bethnal Green drops you right by the Herald Street studios, saves the walk.
