Anyone have any recommendations for a 7 a side pitch?

Long story short we're just tryna find a pitch to play football on Friday evenings around 8 ish ideally within zone 3 maybe zone 4 where u wont just get kicked off after the hour. if u don't mind a bit of a trek, the pitches at hackney downs near the lido are solid. they're run by the council so it's like 45 quid for 90 mins on better uk, and the astro's actually decent with floodlights that stay on til 10. only thing is u gotta book through the app and slots go fast on fridays, i usually snag one by checking wednesday morning. also there's a decent kebab spot on dalston lane if u fancy food after

honestly if u want guaranteed time without getting booted, check out Goals in Beckton or Powerleague in Hackney Wick. they book slots by the hour so no one's rushing u off, and both are zone 2/3 border so travel's easy. friday evening slots at 8ish are popular tho so book a week ahead if u can. the Goals one has astro that's seen better days but the floodlights are decent

have u looked at the council-run pitches? like the ones in hackney marshes or wimbledon park, they let u book slots through the better uk app and it's way cheaper than powerleague. usually about 40-50 quid for an hour and a half, and they don't boot u if u've paid upfront. only catch is they might not have floodlights at 8pm in winter, so check that first. hackney marshes ones are decent though, proper grass not astro

Is The Crown pub worth a visit in 2026?

fmd_goodThe Crown · #tourism #pint
Stopping by The Crown on a trip next month, is it a decent pub for a pint or just a tourist trap? Any tips on when it's less packed? Stopping by The Crown on a trip next month, is it a decent pub for a pint or just a tourist trap? Any tips on when it's less packed?

Which Crown do you mean, there are dozens in London; the one on Great Portland Street is a solid no-frills boozer, quiet before 5pm on weekdays.

The Crown on Blackfriars Road, different beast entirely.

Great Portland Street one, agree, though it fills up after office hours.
