Think about things like pest control; it's not a huge expense each time, but it adds up. Same with AC maintenance – those units are expensive to fix if something goes wrong. And don't forget about those unexpected repair bills; a leaky tap here, a faulty light fitting there…it all chips away. Then there's the potential for building fees that aren't immediately obvious – some buildings have charges for using communal facilities, or for waste disposal. Add it all up and it's a significant amount, easily an extra 5-10% annually that people often forget. Seriously, build a buffer – you'll sleep better knowing you've got a cushion. Dubai is amazing, but it's not cheap!
