Abu Dhabi's newer builds on the island tend to have insulated or shaded tanks, so the water arrives cooler and your hair behaves. Try running the shower for a minute to clear the line, or shower before 10am if you can.
honestly the building plumbing matters as much as the source water. older towers in Barsha and Al Nahda still have galvanized or poorly maintained pipes, so you get rust and sediment mixing in before it even hits your showerhead. Abu Dhabi's newer stock on Reem and Yas was built to tighter specs so the water arrives cleaner.
tbh a cheap TDS meter off amazon will tell you in 10 seconds. mine reads around 200 in my Dubai flat vs like 130 at my cousin's place in Khalifa City. not a huge gap but enough to feel it on fine hair. also try washing with cooler water here, the heat plus hard minerals is teh real combo that wrecks it.
Desalination plants at different locations do produce slightly different water. Dubai mostly relies on the Jebel Ali and Hassyan plants, while Abu Dhabi draws from Taweelah and a few others, and the post-treatment mineral dosing isn't identical. Dubai's water tends to run a touch harder and carries more residual chlorine by the time it reaches older buildings in areas like Deira or Bur Dubai, which strips moisture from hair faster. A shower filter that removes chlorine makes a bigger difference than most people expect, and if you're in a villa with a rooftop tank, that tank sitting in the summer heat doesn't help either.

damn u basically did a free taxi run to rak. thing is they usually target cars with a single guy driving & look for dubai plates so u look like u got somewhere to be. best move is roll ur window down like two inches, say u already called the cops for them & keep moving, dont even unlock the door
yeah that's a known one on e311 & the sharjah ring road, usually they wave you down near the adnoc or before the rta cameras claiming wallet got lifted. classic play is they ask for a lift to the next emirate then bail once you slow down, sometimes a second guy on a bike is tracking you. next time just call 999 or drop them at the nearest police point, don't let anyone in your car off the highway ngl
The RAK route is the tell. No one genuinely stranded on the ring road needs to get all the way to Ras Al Khaimah, that's a 90 minute drive. These guys work in pairs and the second car picks them up after they hop out, usually somewhere past the Al Sajaa junction or near the ADNOC on E311. If it happens again, tell them you'll drive them to the nearest police station and watch how fast the story changes.
