Neighborhood Noise Pollution

Excessive engine revving at night disrupts sleep, scares children, and demonstrates a lack of consideration for others. It's not cool, it's selfish, and it needs to stop. Get help if you need it. The Dubai Municipality has a noise complaint system too, not just the police. I've had better luck with them for ongoing issues like construction or vehicles, they actually follow up and send inspectors around. The 800-900 number gets you straight to their customer service, just have your log details ready.

frankly, some of these car clubs meet in specific industrial areas like al quoz or near the dune buggy tracks on the outskirts, maybe check if it's coming from a direction near there. if it's the same cars every night near a residential villa, the rera complaint system for community noise is actually faster than the general police line for some people i know. also, a lot of these guys just don't know how to drive a proper manual, the revving is just them stalling out in first gear, not even being cool

Yeah, the late-night engine noise in Dubai is ridiculous. I've heard it too. Maybe try contacting the Dubai Police non-emergency line? They might be able to help address the persistent noise complaints. Otherwise, documenting the times and specifics (like location if you're comfortable) could be useful if you decide to escalate it further.

That's a good suggestion, thanks. I hadn't thought of the non-emergency line. I've been keeping a log of the times it happens, mostly between 11 pm and 2 am. It's definitely impacting sleep. Escalating it might be my next step if this doesn't work.

Dubai/Sharjah Road Scam?

I helped a guy stranded on the ring road, gave him a ride to Ras Al Khaima after he claimed to have lost his wallet. Turns out he was fine, just jumped out and vanished. Did I get played? damn u basically did a free taxi run to rak. thing is they usually target cars with a single guy driving & look for dubai plates so u look like u got somewhere to be. best move is roll ur window down like two inches, say u already called the cops for them & keep moving, dont even unlock the door

yeah that's a known one on e311 & the sharjah ring road, usually they wave you down near the adnoc or before the rta cameras claiming wallet got lifted. classic play is they ask for a lift to the next emirate then bail once you slow down, sometimes a second guy on a bike is tracking you. next time just call 999 or drop them at the nearest police point, don't let anyone in your car off the highway ngl

The RAK route is the tell. No one genuinely stranded on the ring road needs to get all the way to Ras Al Khaimah, that's a 90 minute drive. These guys work in pairs and the second car picks them up after they hop out, usually somewhere past the Al Sajaa junction or near the ADNOC on E311. If it happens again, tell them you'll drive them to the nearest police station and watch how fast the story changes.
