The motorcyclists fled the scene after their burning bike was abandoned. Despite cooperating fully with Dubai Police, I'm facing unexpected accusations and my case has been inexplicably referred to public prosecution. Seeking advice on next steps and the process of traffic cases in public prosecution.

hessa street has cameras basically the whole length so if u were anywhere between the emirates hills end and the shk zayed junction there should be footage, but dubai police only release it to the prosecution once a case number exists so push ur file handler for that reference first. the referral itself isnt a conviction, its just that fleeing turns it into a criminal file and prosecution becomes the owner of the paperwork, you basically cant settle it at the station anymore. get a lawyer before ur statement gets taken, not after, bc whatever u sign at prosecution is what they build the case on

honestly the public prosecution part for traffic cases in Dubai usually goes through the Traffic Prosecution office, not the general one, so double check which one your case landed in. also worth pulling your own copy of the accident report from the police app or station, cos what's written there is basically what the prosecutor reads first. if the bikers fled they mightve filed their own version later and thats what triggered the referral.

ngl the fleeing part actually works in your favor long term, hit and run plus abandoning a burning bike is a criminal matter on their side not yours. what prob happened is the prosecution wants your formal statement before they can close it, so its not necessarily an accusation against u. make sure u get the case number from the police station and check if theres a summons date, missing that is when it turns into a real problem

Dubai/Sharjah Road Scam?

I helped a guy stranded on the ring road, gave him a ride to Ras Al Khaima after he claimed to have lost his wallet. Turns out he was fine, just jumped out and vanished. Did I get played? damn u basically did a free taxi run to rak. thing is they usually target cars with a single guy driving & look for dubai plates so u look like u got somewhere to be. best move is roll ur window down like two inches, say u already called the cops for them & keep moving, dont even unlock the door

yeah that's a known one on e311 & the sharjah ring road, usually they wave you down near the adnoc or before the rta cameras claiming wallet got lifted. classic play is they ask for a lift to the next emirate then bail once you slow down, sometimes a second guy on a bike is tracking you. next time just call 999 or drop them at the nearest police point, don't let anyone in your car off the highway ngl

The RAK route is the tell. No one genuinely stranded on the ring road needs to get all the way to Ras Al Khaimah, that's a 90 minute drive. These guys work in pairs and the second car picks them up after they hop out, usually somewhere past the Al Sajaa junction or near the ADNOC on E311. If it happens again, tell them you'll drive them to the nearest police station and watch how fast the story changes.
