South City's smells... yeah, that's a thing. I've heard similar complaints. The cause varies, sometimes construction, sometimes overflowing bins, sometimes... well, let's just say Dubai's rapid growth isn't always pretty smelling. As for International City Phase 2, I can't say definitively about the smell there, but generally, it's less densely packed than South City, so might be better. But honestly, checking property reviews on websites like Bayut might give a more realistic picture than anecdotal evidence. Good luck with your search!
