We have already registered via the Dubai now app and made the payment for the medical, after which we need to get in touch with a marriage official for nikkah.
Do I need to get anything apart from passport and Emirates ID? I keep hearing I need to go to the British embassy to get some docs.
If anyone has been in the same position and can help me with the process then I would greatly appreciate it.

ngl the embassy thing comes up a lot but it's really for people who need a certificate of no impediment to prove ur single, which dubai doesn't require for muslims since the sharia court handles it. the maazoun will check ur passports and emirates id, then do the nikkah at the court or a designated location. just make sure u both have ur original birth certificates too, they sometimes ask for them if ur under 21 or if there's any discrepancy in ur names. also the medical results from the app are valid for 30 days so don't sit on them too long
honestly the embassy thing is a myth for most cases. if you're both residing in dubai with valid visas, you just need your passports, emirates ids, and the medical certificates from the app. the marriage official (maazoun) will handle everything else, including the nikkah contract and registering it with the courts. i'd skip the embassy unless you specifically need a certificate of no impediment for a non-uae civil ceremony later, which is rare here. also make sure your original documents are in english or arabic, otherwise you'll need a certified translation.
You're overcomplicating this. Here's the thing, the British embassy has nothing to do with your nikkah unless you're trying to register the marriage back in the UK later, which is a separate headache you don't need right now. For the Dubai process, passport and Emirates ID

yeah that's a known one on e311 & the sharjah ring road, usually they wave you down near the adnoc or before the rta cameras claiming wallet got lifted. classic play is they ask for a lift to the next emirate then bail once you slow down, sometimes a second guy on a bike is tracking you. next time just call 999 or drop them at the nearest police point, don't let anyone in your car off the highway ngl
The RAK route is the tell. No one genuinely stranded on the ring road needs to get all the way to Ras Al Khaimah, that's a 90 minute drive. These guys work in pairs and the second car picks them up after they hop out, usually somewhere past the Al Sajaa junction or near the ADNOC on E311. If it happens again, tell them you'll drive them to the nearest police station and watch how fast the story changes.
