is Amer247 legit?

I wanted to apply for spouse visa online and these guys are asking for money? Can I trust them? I wanted to apply for spouse visa online and these guys are asking for money? Can I trust them?

the other reply covered the basics but think about this: amer247 is basically a broker, not the actual govt. even if theyre licensed, theyre not the same as walking into a physical amer center. i tried them once for a friend's visa and the whole thing felt off, they kept pushing "express" packages that doubled the price for stuff u can do urself.

for spouse visa specifically, the ICP app is ur friend. the entry permit is like AED 3,200 and u can pay by card right there, no middleman. just have ur marriage certificate attested, ur emirates id, and the sponsor's salary certificate ready, it takes longer to scan the docs than to actually submit.

if u really want a typing center, go to one in deira near the burjuman metro, theres a cluster of them behind the old gold souq. they charge like 30 to 50 dirhams just for typing the form, and u pay the govt fee separately with a clear receipt. no upfront "processing fees" before u even have a file number, that's the scam tell.

honestly, amer247 is a private typing center, not the official GDRFA or ICP. theyre a middleman. the real spouse visa application fee goes to the government, and amer centers are licensed by them, but amer247 specifically is a third party that charges extra for processing.

i'd be careful. check if they have a physical office in dubai, like in al manara or bur dubai, and ask for a receipt that separates their service fee from the govt fee. if they cant show u that, walk away.

for spouse visa, u can actually do it yourself via the ICP smart services app or the GDRFA website in like 20 mins. the fee is around AED 3,000 to 3,500 for the entry permit plus medical and insurance later. amer247 asking upfront money before u even have a file number is a red flag.

if ur still unsure, go to a real amer center in person, the ones inside al barsha or deira. they charge a small service fee (like 50 to 100 dirhams) on top of the official govt price, and they give u a proper invoice. that's the safest way.

I've seen people get burned by these online middlemen before, the issue is they quote you one price then hit you with "unexpected fees" after you've already paid. Look up the official ICP website and do it through there, it's in English and pretty straightforward. Or just walk into any Amer center near you, the ones in malls like Al Ghurair are busy but they'll sort you out face to face with a proper receipt.

Dubai/Sharjah Road Scam?

I helped a guy stranded on the ring road, gave him a ride to Ras Al Khaima after he claimed to have lost his wallet. Turns out he was fine, just jumped out and vanished. Did I get played? damn u basically did a free taxi run to rak. thing is they usually target cars with a single guy driving & look for dubai plates so u look like u got somewhere to be. best move is roll ur window down like two inches, say u already called the cops for them & keep moving, dont even unlock the door

yeah that's a known one on e311 & the sharjah ring road, usually they wave you down near the adnoc or before the rta cameras claiming wallet got lifted. classic play is they ask for a lift to the next emirate then bail once you slow down, sometimes a second guy on a bike is tracking you. next time just call 999 or drop them at the nearest police point, don't let anyone in your car off the highway ngl

The RAK route is the tell. No one genuinely stranded on the ring road needs to get all the way to Ras Al Khaimah, that's a 90 minute drive. These guys work in pairs and the second car picks them up after they hop out, usually somewhere past the Al Sajaa junction or near the ADNOC on E311. If it happens again, tell them you'll drive them to the nearest police station and watch how fast the story changes.
