Applied for the visa on ICP a few days ago, today I got:

تصديق المرفقات من السفارة وترجمتها بالعربي

Using translate, it says something about documents being attested at an embassy. I don't understand this... No one can really attest my work agreement, my pay stubs, and they would see my passport when I get there anyway. Canadian btw.

There's no details on which documents, what embassy etc. Can anyone help?

that msg means they want ur supporting docs (work agreement, pay stubs, whatever u uploaded) to be notarized/attested by the canadian embassy in uae or back home, then translated into arabic by a legal translator. it's a standard step for the remote work visa, they don't just take ur word for it. for canadians, the embassy in abu dhabi handles attestation, but u can also do it via a certified service in dubai that'll courier it for u. no need to hand over ur passport, just copies. check with a typing center near al manara or al barsha, they do this all day for like 100-200 aed per doc, plus translation costs. annoying but normal.

Yeah that's pretty standard for them to toss in a vague line like that. You could try calling ICP support, but honestly a quick email might get you a clearer answer on which embassy they mean.

Bit of a hassle but it's a common hoop for the remote visa. The embassy bit usually means getting your docs stamped by Canada's consulate, and the translation part is just a local legal translator in Dubai. Maybe just hit up the Canadian embassy's website for their attestation rules, though.

Dubai/Sharjah Road Scam?

I helped a guy stranded on the ring road, gave him a ride to Ras Al Khaima after he claimed to have lost his wallet. Turns out he was fine, just jumped out and vanished. Did I get played? damn u basically did a free taxi run to rak. thing is they usually target cars with a single guy driving & look for dubai plates so u look like u got somewhere to be. best move is roll ur window down like two inches, say u already called the cops for them & keep moving, dont even unlock the door

yeah that's a known one on e311 & the sharjah ring road, usually they wave you down near the adnoc or before the rta cameras claiming wallet got lifted. classic play is they ask for a lift to the next emirate then bail once you slow down, sometimes a second guy on a bike is tracking you. next time just call 999 or drop them at the nearest police point, don't let anyone in your car off the highway ngl

The RAK route is the tell. No one genuinely stranded on the ring road needs to get all the way to Ras Al Khaimah, that's a 90 minute drive. These guys work in pairs and the second car picks them up after they hop out, usually somewhere past the Al Sajaa junction or near the ADNOC on E311. If it happens again, tell them you'll drive them to the nearest police station and watch how fast the story changes.
