Any alternatives to Sufouh beach?

I have heard Sufouh beach is still closed.

Any other beaches nearby that I can drive up to, park and chill in my car in peace watching the sea?

I used to do this in Sufouh many years back.

yeah Sufouh's been fenced off for a while now, they're building something there. try Umm Suqeim beach up near the Burj Al Arab end, there's free parking along Jumeirah St and you can just sit in your car facing the water. gets busy on weekends tho so go early or on a weekday. Kite Beach is another one but honestly the parking situation there is a nightmare after 4pm.

the trick with all these spots is timing the tide, not the crowd. at Umm Suqeim and the Black Palace stretch the water pulls way out around mid afternoon and you end up staring at mudflats instead of sea, so check a tide app before you drive out. for pure car chilling i actually rate the Jebel Ali public beach past the port, its a long empty stretch off Sheikh Zayed Rd exit 29ish, free parking right at the sand and hardly anyone on a weekday. its a 40 min drive from Marina but you get the whole horizon to yourself.

sunset beach off umm suqeim rd is the one nobody mentions, its past the burj al arab heading toward the canal, small free lot right on the sand & you back in facing the water. way calmer than kite or umm suqeim proper & theres a little cafeteria shack if u want karak without moving the car. only catch is it floods a bit after heavy rain so skip it the day after a storm. weekday around 6pm is perfect, sun drops right between the sail & the palm

Dubai/Sharjah Road Scam?

I helped a guy stranded on the ring road, gave him a ride to Ras Al Khaima after he claimed to have lost his wallet. Turns out he was fine, just jumped out and vanished. Did I get played? damn u basically did a free taxi run to rak. thing is they usually target cars with a single guy driving & look for dubai plates so u look like u got somewhere to be. best move is roll ur window down like two inches, say u already called the cops for them & keep moving, dont even unlock the door

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

yeah that's a known one on e311 & the sharjah ring road, usually they wave you down near the adnoc or before the rta cameras claiming wallet got lifted. classic play is they ask for a lift to the next emirate then bail once you slow down, sometimes a second guy on a bike is tracking you. next time just call 999 or drop them at the nearest police point, don't let anyone in your car off the highway ngl

The RAK route is the tell. No one genuinely stranded on the ring road needs to get all the way to Ras Al Khaimah, that's a 90 minute drive. These guys work in pairs and the second car picks them up after they hop out, usually somewhere past the Al Sajaa junction or near the ADNOC on E311. If it happens again, tell them you'll drive them to the nearest police station and watch how fast the story changes.
