Sharjah: Anyone received random fines today?

We have received 2 fines, 1 for both cars that we own in Sharjah at 4 AM, which is ridiculous because they were both parked? Anyone else received this? They are 510 each and 'external reasons' wtf :) We have received 2 fines, 1 for both cars that we own in Sharjah at 4 AM, which is ridiculous because they were both parked? Anyone else received this? honestly 510 with "external reasons" is usually a Mawaqif or municipality thing not traffic police, so check both portals not just moi. we got one last month on a car that was sitting in our building lot in Al Nahda and it turned out a camera car logged the plate wrong, took 3 weeks to clear at the Sharjah municipality office near the fish market. if both your cars got hit at the same minute same spot thats almost certainly a misread, dispute them together and mention the timestamp match

4am is the tell tbh, thats when the mobile radars and the new AI camera cars do their rounds. 510 is the standard "external reasons" bracket which usually means a camera caught something, not a cop. log into the sharjah police app or the moi site with ur plate & you should see the photo attached, if there's no photo then dispute it at the traffic violations counter in Al Khan, they do reverse those fairly often

if both plates got hit at the exact same minute thats the giveaway, camera cars log by timestamp and a misread usually duplicates. tbh before you even dispute, pull the violation details on the MOI app and screenshot the location pin, cause sometimes they tag it to a totally different street than where you actually parked. that mismatch alone got a friends fine cancelled at Al Khan without much back and forth

Dubai/Sharjah Road Scam?

I helped a guy stranded on the ring road, gave him a ride to Ras Al Khaima after he claimed to have lost his wallet. Turns out he was fine, just jumped out and vanished. Did I get played? damn u basically did a free taxi run to rak. thing is they usually target cars with a single guy driving & look for dubai plates so u look like u got somewhere to be. best move is roll ur window down like two inches, say u already called the cops for them & keep moving, dont even unlock the door

yeah that's a known one on e311 & the sharjah ring road, usually they wave you down near the adnoc or before the rta cameras claiming wallet got lifted. classic play is they ask for a lift to the next emirate then bail once you slow down, sometimes a second guy on a bike is tracking you. next time just call 999 or drop them at the nearest police point, don't let anyone in your car off the highway ngl

The RAK route is the tell. No one genuinely stranded on the ring road needs to get all the way to Ras Al Khaimah, that's a 90 minute drive. These guys work in pairs and the second car picks them up after they hop out, usually somewhere past the Al Sajaa junction or near the ADNOC on E311. If it happens again, tell them you'll drive them to the nearest police station and watch how fast the story changes.
