Is The Entertainer worth it?

Seeing the ads, heard some good things and some bad things. So I ask this community - paying nearly 600 AED on The Entertainer, is it worth it? πŸ™πŸΎ Seeing the ads, heard some good things and some bad things. It depends entirely on how you eat out. If you're already going to places like Texas de Brazil, Carluccio's, or Trader Vic's a few times a month, the buy-one-get-one deals can save you more than the 600 AED fee pretty quickly. But if your usual spots are smaller independent cafΓ©s or cheap eats in Satwa or Karama, you won't find many of them in the book at all. I've had it for two years running and it paid for itself by March, but only because I use the hotel pool and brunch deals too.

I think the real question is whether you'll actually remember to use it. I bought it once and kept forgetting to check the app before paying, so I wasted a bunch of the deals. If you're the type who plans ahead and always whips out your phone at the restaurant, it's probably great. If you're like me and just hand over your card without thinking, you might not get your money back.

Honestly the pool and spa deals are the real hidden value. I got mine just for the hotel pool access at places like the Ritz or Waldorf, used it maybe 6 times and that alone saved me way more than 600 AED. The food deals are just a bonus tbh.

Dubai/Sharjah Road Scam?

I helped a guy stranded on the ring road, gave him a ride to Ras Al Khaima after he claimed to have lost his wallet. Turns out he was fine, just jumped out and vanished. Did I get played? damn u basically did a free taxi run to rak. thing is they usually target cars with a single guy driving & look for dubai plates so u look like u got somewhere to be. best move is roll ur window down like two inches, say u already called the cops for them & keep moving, dont even unlock the door

yeah that's a known one on e311 & the sharjah ring road, usually they wave you down near the adnoc or before the rta cameras claiming wallet got lifted. classic play is they ask for a lift to the next emirate then bail once you slow down, sometimes a second guy on a bike is tracking you. next time just call 999 or drop them at the nearest police point, don't let anyone in your car off the highway ngl

The RAK route is the tell. No one genuinely stranded on the ring road needs to get all the way to Ras Al Khaimah, that's a 90 minute drive. These guys work in pairs and the second car picks them up after they hop out, usually somewhere past the Al Sajaa junction or near the ADNOC on E311. If it happens again, tell them you'll drive them to the nearest police station and watch how fast the story changes.
