Hi all, my current bank HSBC has been getting rid of benefits pretty much like HSBC entertainer.

I make about 20k and wanted to know of any other banks that give good benefits and have good service with a good mobile app?

I was thinking ADCB

ADCB is decent ngl, their app works well and their Touch points program gives u decent cashback on groceries and dining. Though since you're on 20k you might not qualify for their premium tiers which have the best perks.

Have you looked at CBD? Their "CBD Digi" account is pretty solid for that salary range, no minimum balance fees and the app is honestly smoother than HSBC's. Plus they still do the 10% cashback on select categories which HSBC killed off.

Another option is Emirates NBD Liv if you want something with zero frills, but their service has gone downhill lately. ADCB would be my pick between the two honestly, just keep in mind their branch network is smaller than HSBC's in Dubai.

You might want to check out Mashreq Neo. Their app is one of the best I've used here, and they have a decent cashback program on dining and groceries through their Mashreq GOAL points. The signup process is all digital too, so you don't need to visit a branch. Just keep in mind their ATM network isn't as widespread as Emirates NBD, but you can withdraw from any ATM in the UAE for free up to a certain limit with their plan.

Dubai/Sharjah Road Scam?

I helped a guy stranded on the ring road, gave him a ride to Ras Al Khaima after he claimed to have lost his wallet. Turns out he was fine, just jumped out and vanished. Did I get played? damn u basically did a free taxi run to rak. thing is they usually target cars with a single guy driving & look for dubai plates so u look like u got somewhere to be. best move is roll ur window down like two inches, say u already called the cops for them & keep moving, dont even unlock the door

yeah that's a known one on e311 & the sharjah ring road, usually they wave you down near the adnoc or before the rta cameras claiming wallet got lifted. classic play is they ask for a lift to the next emirate then bail once you slow down, sometimes a second guy on a bike is tracking you. next time just call 999 or drop them at the nearest police point, don't let anyone in your car off the highway ngl

The RAK route is the tell. No one genuinely stranded on the ring road needs to get all the way to Ras Al Khaimah, that's a 90 minute drive. These guys work in pairs and the second car picks them up after they hop out, usually somewhere past the Al Sajaa junction or near the ADNOC on E311. If it happens again, tell them you'll drive them to the nearest police station and watch how fast the story changes.
