What's going on in cinema?
What has happened with cinema etiquette and manners? I think the cinemas should be taking this more seriously.
honestly that's just mcc for you tbh, it's a mall cinema so it's a free-for-all with families and kids running wild. try vox at city walk or novu at dubai hills mall if u want actual quiet screenings, they're stricter about noise and the crowd is way more chill. reel cinema in dubai marina is decent too, plus they have those pod seats that block out some of the chatter.
yeah mcc is basically the wild west for movies, i learned that the hard way watching dune there and hearing some guy narrate the whole thing to his gf. the thing is the cinemas are prob scared to kick people out cause they don't wanna deal with complaints or bad reviews, especially in a family-heavy spot like that. if u want a specific suggestion try the vox gold screen at mall of the emirates, it's more expensive but the crowd is older and quieter, plus they have that separate entrance so u don't even walk through the mall chaos. also pro tip check the "adults only" screenings on the vox app, they're for 18+ and actually enforce silence, i caught oppenheimer there and it was dead quiet the whole time
mcc is honestly the worst for movies, its like a daycare with popcorn. i stopped going there years ago. if you want quiet check out the platinum suites at vox, theyre pricier but they actually kick people out for being loud. also tip: avoid weekend evening shows anywhere, thats when all the rowdy crowds come out. go for a weekday morning or late night screening instead.

Dubai/Sharjah Road Scam?
damn u basically did a free taxi run to rak. thing is they usually target cars with a single guy driving & look for dubai plates so u look like u got somewhere to be. best move is roll ur window down like two inches, say u already called the cops for them & keep moving, dont even unlock the door
yeah that's a known one on e311 & the sharjah ring road, usually they wave you down near the adnoc or before the rta cameras claiming wallet got lifted. classic play is they ask for a lift to the next emirate then bail once you slow down, sometimes a second guy on a bike is tracking you. next time just call 999 or drop them at the nearest police point, don't let anyone in your car off the highway ngl
The RAK route is the tell. No one genuinely stranded on the ring road needs to get all the way to Ras Al Khaimah, that's a 90 minute drive. These guys work in pairs and the second car picks them up after they hop out, usually somewhere past the Al Sajaa junction or near the ADNOC on E311. If it happens again, tell them you'll drive them to the nearest police station and watch how fast the story changes.
