Best Vet for dog skin issue?

We've brought her to two vets already and each one only recommended she take Apoquel (it didn't help much). We really want to treat the problem from the inside without having to use steroid creams and such. Is anyone dealing with the same issue with their dog? If so, could anyone please recommend a specialist vet who can cure dog itchiness for good?

I've been through this with my Shih Tzu and the game changer was switching her diet. We saw Dr. Alaa at the German Veterinary Clinic on Al Wasl Road near Jumeirah. She did an elimination diet and a blood test for environmental allergens and found it was actually a reaction to chicken and a specific grass in our compound. Apoquel just masks the symptoms, it doesn't fix the root cause. A good internal medicine vet or dermatologist will look at food and environment first before pushing meds.

Dr. Sara at British Veterinary Centre on Umm Suqeim Street is worth a visit for this. She's a dermatology specialist and actually runs allergy testing in-house, not just the standard blood panel. My friend's golden retriever had the exact same fur-pulling issue and it turned out to be a reaction to the dust mites in their villa's AC vents - they did immunotherapy drops instead of pills. The consultation is around 450 dirhams but they take their time to map out the triggers rather than just handing you another prescription.

Have you looked into a veterinary dermatologist? They're usually better at finding root causes than general vets.

Dubai/Sharjah Road Scam?

I helped a guy stranded on the ring road, gave him a ride to Ras Al Khaima after he claimed to have lost his wallet. Turns out he was fine, just jumped out and vanished. Did I get played? damn u basically did a free taxi run to rak. thing is they usually target cars with a single guy driving & look for dubai plates so u look like u got somewhere to be. best move is roll ur window down like two inches, say u already called the cops for them & keep moving, dont even unlock the door

yeah that's a known one on e311 & the sharjah ring road, usually they wave you down near the adnoc or before the rta cameras claiming wallet got lifted. classic play is they ask for a lift to the next emirate then bail once you slow down, sometimes a second guy on a bike is tracking you. next time just call 999 or drop them at the nearest police point, don't let anyone in your car off the highway ngl

The RAK route is the tell. No one genuinely stranded on the ring road needs to get all the way to Ras Al Khaimah, that's a 90 minute drive. These guys work in pairs and the second car picks them up after they hop out, usually somewhere past the Al Sajaa junction or near the ADNOC on E311. If it happens again, tell them you'll drive them to the nearest police station and watch how fast the story changes.
