Popular local perfume at duty-free?

Visiting Dubai and looking for local perfumes, but I'm feeling overwhelmed by all the options. What are some of the most popular local perfumes I can find at Dubai Duty-Free? tbh the duty free has a decent selection of abdul samad al qurashi but you're paying extra for the fancy packaging. their "royal" line is super popular with tourists but if you want something less sweet try the "oud muattar" it's more woody and smoky. also check the testers near the registers, sometimes they have smaller bottles of their "black" series that aren't on the main shelf. a 50ml of that will run you around 400 dirhams which is fair for airport pricing

honestly skip duty free for real local stuff, they stock the touristy brands like swiss arabian and ajmal which are fine but not the best. head to oud al anfar or rasasi in the airport itself, their spray bottles are cheaper than the gift sets duty free pushes. if u want something that actually smells like dubai, get a small bottle of khaltat al anfar, it's heavy on the rose and saffron and lasts all day. prices at duty free are marked up anyway so don't feel pressured to buy there

Dubai/Sharjah Road Scam?

I helped a guy stranded on the ring road, gave him a ride to Ras Al Khaima after he claimed to have lost his wallet. Turns out he was fine, just jumped out and vanished. Did I get played? damn u basically did a free taxi run to rak. thing is they usually target cars with a single guy driving & look for dubai plates so u look like u got somewhere to be. best move is roll ur window down like two inches, say u already called the cops for them & keep moving, dont even unlock the door

yeah that's a known one on e311 & the sharjah ring road, usually they wave you down near the adnoc or before the rta cameras claiming wallet got lifted. classic play is they ask for a lift to the next emirate then bail once you slow down, sometimes a second guy on a bike is tracking you. next time just call 999 or drop them at the nearest police point, don't let anyone in your car off the highway ngl

The RAK route is the tell. No one genuinely stranded on the ring road needs to get all the way to Ras Al Khaimah, that's a 90 minute drive. These guys work in pairs and the second car picks them up after they hop out, usually somewhere past the Al Sajaa junction or near the ADNOC on E311. If it happens again, tell them you'll drive them to the nearest police station and watch how fast the story changes.
