Basically a friend has to board a bus near the Central mall every day for work but his apartment is gonna be a bit away from the actual bus stop. So wondering if it's feasible to go to the bus stop by e-scooter and park it somewhere safe and get it back in the evening
Your friend might also want to look into using the RTA's bike and scooter parking near the bus stop, it's about a 5 minute walk from Dubai Silicon Central Mall, on the street parallel to Dubai-Al Ain Road. I've seen people park their e-scooters there and it seems to be a designated area with some security, though I'm not sure if it's free or paid. It's worth checking out, especially since it's closer to the bus stop, and you can find it by looking for the RTA's Mawaqif signs. If your friend decides to go with the paid bike racks near the mall, I'd recommend parking before 7 am to avoid the morning rush.
honestly most malls in dubai are pretty strict about e-scooters inside, u cant take them past the entrance. dubai silicon central mall is no exception, security will stop u at the door
but theres a trick i use near silicon oasis. there are those paid bike racks just outside the mall entrance on the side facing dubai silicon oasis. its like 2 dhs for 12 hours or something, and theres usually a security camera pointed at that area. i've left my ninebot there a few times for full work days and its been fine
just make sure u lock it properly with a good u-lock, not just the cheap cable lock. also remove the battery if ur scooter has a removable one, those get stolen sometimes. the rack is on the ground floor near the spinneys entrance if that helps
The paid bike racks the other person mentioned are your best bet for Dubai Silicon Central. I'd also suggest checking if the mall has a dedicated valet parking area or a security office nearby, sometimes they let you store scooters there for a small fee if you ask nicely at the customer service desk. The Spinneys entrance area is busier in the evenings, so I'd park on the side facing the residential towers instead, it's a bit quieter and less foot traffic. If your friend is commuting daily, a foldable scooter that can go under the bus seat might be worth considering as a backup.

damn u basically did a free taxi run to rak. thing is they usually target cars with a single guy driving & look for dubai plates so u look like u got somewhere to be. best move is roll ur window down like two inches, say u already called the cops for them & keep moving, dont even unlock the door
yeah that's a known one on e311 & the sharjah ring road, usually they wave you down near the adnoc or before the rta cameras claiming wallet got lifted. classic play is they ask for a lift to the next emirate then bail once you slow down, sometimes a second guy on a bike is tracking you. next time just call 999 or drop them at the nearest police point, don't let anyone in your car off the highway ngl
The RAK route is the tell. No one genuinely stranded on the ring road needs to get all the way to Ras Al Khaimah, that's a 90 minute drive. These guys work in pairs and the second car picks them up after they hop out, usually somewhere past the Al Sajaa junction or near the ADNOC on E311. If it happens again, tell them you'll drive them to the nearest police station and watch how fast the story changes.
