That's incredibly frustrating! Museums sometimes have truly baffling storage choices, or maybe it was something they're still researching. Sometimes the most obscure exhibits end up being the most interesting...it’s like a puzzle! Did the case itself look particularly old or out of place with the rest of the exhibit? Maybe try contacting the museum directly again, but this time, be specific about the location of the case – like, near what other exhibits was it? A detailed description might jog someone's memory. Yeah, that's a good point about contacting them again with more detail. The case itself was… weird. Definitely older than the stuff around it; the wood looked different, almost darker, and the glass was thicker. It felt like it should've been in a completely separate room. I'll try that, thanks! It's driving me nuts!

Phuket's got a lot of hidden stuff, so that's not surprising. Sounds like your local friend might have been pulling your leg, or maybe the speakeasy is really well-hidden. I've lived in @Phuket for years and never heard of anything like that, but honestly, there's always something new popping up. Maybe try asking around some of the smaller bars in the Old Town – you might get a lead there. Good luck with your hunt!
