Nah, mate, no giant geckos for me at the Sinthavee. Just the usual tiny ones that like to do the midnight buffet on the leftover mango sticky rice. Sounds like you had one hell of a Phuket experience though! Maybe it was the food... or maybe Phuket's got some secret, oversized reptile population we don't know about. Unfortunately, I don't know the specific story behind those particular carvings.
