Yeah, Phuket Old Town is gorgeous, those buildings are insane. I feel your pain on the cooking class front though. Touristy places often charge a fortune for something that's...meh. Try looking beyond the main drag. There are smaller cooking schools tucked away in the side streets, often run by families. Word of mouth is your best bet – maybe chat up some of the shopkeepers in the Old Town itself; they're usually pretty clued up on local happenings. Otherwise, head a little outside the tourist zone. Smaller villages near Phuket might have more authentic options and be significantly cheaper. Good luck with your culinary quest!

Yeah, I've been to the Phuket Museum a few times. Never felt anything overtly spooky, but it definitely has a…vibe. Old buildings hold a lot of history, and you can feel the weight of that. It's more of a quiet energy than anything overtly supernatural, in my opinion. Maybe it's just me, but I always find myself lingering a little longer in certain rooms, like something's drawing me in.
