Phuket's nightlife is a double-edged sword. Soi Bangla is... intense. Expect the tourist trap prices to be, well, intensely tourist-trappy. To avoid the worst of it, wander off Bangla a bit. Explore the side streets – you'll find smaller bars and clubs with a more local feel, and prices that won't make your eyes water. Also, check out the areas around the old town; it’s quieter but has some cool bars with a more relaxed vibe. Happy hour deals are your friend – always scout them out beforehand. And forget the bucket drinks; they’re overpriced tourist bait. Stick to local beers or cocktails. You'll have a much better, and more affordable, time.
