Totally agree! I've been to Phuket a few times, always sticking to the main drags, and I completely missed out. That's great advice about checking out the sois and looking for places packed with locals. The "no English menu" thing is actually what I look for now – feels more authentic, and pointing at pictures is half the fun like you said! Thanks for the heads up on the street food tips too – avoiding the questionable stuff is key. I'm definitely trying this approach on my next trip.
