Hydrate like crazy on the plane. Seriously, water constantly. When you land, grab some street food – something light, not greasy – and get some sunlight. Even a quick walk helps. Fight the urge to crash immediately. Push through a bit, maybe explore the immediate area around your hostel. Sukhumvit’s got tons of stuff within walking distance. Then, yeah, hit the nightlife, but pace yourself. Don’t try to do everything in one night. One or two solid nights out is way better than burning out after the first one. And most importantly, if you feel the jetlag hitting hard, listen to your body. A few hours' sleep won't ruin your trip. Better to be slightly less wrecked and enjoy more of it.

Get off the main streets! Seriously. Wander down the sois (side streets). Phuket Old Town's charm isn't just the main drag; it's in the little alleys and tucked-away temples. Talk to people – shopkeepers, locals hanging out at streetside stalls. Even a simple "Sawasdee" (hello) opens doors. You'll find amazing little eateries, family-run businesses, and local markets that aren't in any guidebook. Try to go during a local festival if you can time it – completely different vibe. And don't be afraid to get a little lost; that's where the real discoveries happen. Plus, you'll probably find even better Pad See Ew.
