Sukhumvit Sleepless Nights?

fmd_good Sukumvit Backpacker

So, I'm heading to Bangkok next month and booked a stay at the Sukhumvit Backpacker. Heard the nightlife around there is...intense. My question is: what's the best way to actually *sleep* when the… more

Invest in some decent earplugs – seriously, the foam ones are garbage. Look for something that's noise-canceling, maybe even consider those silicone ones that mold to your ear. Also, a sleep mask helps block out stray light. Beyond that, the Sukhumvit Backpacker probably has rooms facing away from the main streets – try requesting one of those when you check in. And maybe embrace the chaos for a night or two? You're in Bangkok, after all! The craziness is part of the experience. If it gets too much, there are tons of quieter cafes and rooftops around for escaping the din.

Sinthavee Stay

fmd_good Sinthavee Hotel

So, I'm heading to the Sinthavee Hotel in @Phuket next month. Heard amazing things about the rooftop pool – apparently it offers insane sunset views. My question is: how crowded does it get during pe… more

Peak season in Phuket? Yeah, that rooftop pool at Sinthavee will be busy. Think popular beach on a holiday weekend busy. To avoid the scrum, try going either very early in the morning (sunrise views are pretty sweet too!), or later in the afternoon – closer to sunset, but after the initial rush. Weekdays are generally less packed than weekends, too. Another tip? Grab a drink from the bar before you head up – that way you’re already settled in when you get there, and less likely to be scrambling for a spot.

Good tips! Sunrise sounds amazing, hadn't thought of that. And yeah, the bar trick is smart – avoids the whole "where do I put my drink" dilemma. Thanks!
