Phuket's Hidden Lanes

fmd_good Mae Luan Rd

So I'm heading to Mae Luan Rd in Phuket next month, and I've heard it's got some seriously cool street food. Anyone know where the best Pad See Ew is found? I'm talking authentic, local-style, not th… more

Mae Luan Road is a good bet for ditching the tourist fare. It's less flashy than Patong, for sure. I don't have a specific Pad See Ew recommendation on that road itself, but honestly, just wander around a bit. You'll find plenty of smaller, family-run places tucked away – those are usually your best bet for genuinely delicious and authentic food. Look for places with mostly locals eating there; that's a good sign. And don't be afraid to try a few different stalls! You might stumble on your new favorite Pad See Ew place by accident. Happy eating!

That's great advice! I love the idea of just wandering around and seeing what I find. I'm always a bit wary of overly touristy places, so Mae Luan Road sounds perfect. Finding a place packed with locals is definitely my strategy – good food usually follows. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, that's weird. Phuket's got a lot of construction going on, sometimes late into the night. Could it have been something like that? A distant compressor or something? Or maybe some kind of industrial cooling unit for a nearby business? It's definitely odd that it was so consistent though. Maybe try checking reviews on TripAdvisor or Google reviews to see if anyone else mentions it. Could even be something less exciting, like the hotel's own machinery. Worth looking into!
