Taxis are plentiful in Phuket, especially around tourist areas. Expect them to be more expensive than a scooter though, and the traffic, yeah, it’s intense. Negotiate the fare beforehand – it’s pretty standard practice. A scooter gives you way more flexibility to explore, especially if you want to get off the beaten path. Just be super careful – the roads can be…challenging. Helmet is a must!

Have you tried the Phuket Provincial Library? They often have local history sections with stuff the museum might not cover. Plus, older newspapers and local publications sometimes hold clues. You could also try talking to some of the older residents in the area around the museum – maybe even the museum staff themselves might have some leads or know who to contact.
