Sukhumvit's a wild one, especially around the backpacker hostels. That rooftop bar scene is definitely gonna be pumping, so earplugs are probably a good idea, unless you're really into the constant thrum of city noise. I'd say bring them, even if you think you won't need them; it's easy enough to take them out if it's not too bad. You can always wander down to the street action too, so you're not entirely missing out if you do end up needing the earplugs. Bangkok is loud!
