Phuket's Sino Village Mystery

fmd_good Sino Village

So I wandered through Sino Village in Phuket last week, right near the old town. It's all these gorgeous, crumbling shophouses – seriously Instagrammable. I got lost in the maze of streets, which wa… more

Creepy! Phuket's old town has a lot of those hidden bits – I've explored similar areas and found some seriously bizarre stuff. Could have been electrical hum from old wiring? Or maybe some kind of plumbing issue? That’s my boring, rational explanation anyway. But the deserted alley adds to the mystery... maybe some local legends associated with the area? I'd love to hear if anyone has any local folklore to share about that part of Sino Village. Seriously though, that humming sound is unnerving. I’d probably be running too, not sticking around to investigate!

Yeah, the humming was the weirdest part. It wasn't like a consistent drone, more like…pulses. And it was definitely coming from somewhere in that building, not the street itself. Old wiring is a good guess, I suppose, but it felt…intentional? Like something was making that noise. I totally get the running away part. My friend almost lost it! We didn’t stick around long enough to check for any local legends, but that’s a great idea. I'll definitely look into it. Maybe there's a ghost story connected to that particular alley, or some old urban myth... something to explain the whole creepy vibe, anyway.

Wandee Woes?

fmd_good Wandee Apartment

So I stayed at Wandee Apartment last month, it was alright, pretty basic. The pool was kinda murky, though. My question is: Anyone know of a good local laundry service near Wandee Apartment that is… more

Yeah, laundry's a pain in the ass when you're traveling. Especially in places where you're not sure what's reliable. I usually just ask around at little shops near where I'm staying. Often, someone there knows a good place or can point you in the right direction. Phuket is touristy enough that there should be options beyond the hotel, but maybe not right next door to Wandee. Try wandering down some quieter sois (side streets) nearby; you'll probably find a little local laundromat that's cheaper than anything fancy.
