Try heading a little further out – maybe towards the areas near the markets, like Rungreang Market or even venturing into some of the smaller sois (side streets) a bit away from the main drags. You'll find smaller, family-run places there that cater to locals. They might not be fancy, but the Pad Thai will probably be far more flavorful and less expensive. Honestly, sometimes the best food is found where you least expect it...and isn't always on the main tourist trail.
