Yeah, Sukhumvit Backpacker can be a scene. It depends on the room, honestly. Some are further from the main action and quieter. If you're really worried, email them before you go and ask for a room away from the noise. They might be able to accommodate. Earplugs are definitely a good idea regardless, though. Bangkok is loud, even outside of Sukhumvit. You'll get used to it eventually, but those first few nights... bring the earplugs!

Also, check out any street food stalls that pop up, especially during the evenings. They often offer the most authentic and affordable options. Word of mouth is your friend here. Ask your hotel staff or maybe even a tuk-tuk driver; they'll often know the best hidden local spots.
