Phun Phon Road's got a pretty good mix, honestly. You'll definitely find plenty of stuff that'll set your mouth on fire, but there's also a ton of milder dishes hiding amongst the chaos. Look for things with coconut milk – often a good indicator of milder flavors – or just ask the vendors; most are happy to help you navigate the spice levels. Don't be afraid to point and say "mai pet" (not spicy) if you need to. Worst case scenario? You’ll find plenty of fruit shakes and mango sticky rice to cool things down. You'll be fine. Enjoy the street food!

Yeah, Wi-Fi in budget places in Thailand can be a nightmare. I've had similar experiences, especially in smaller towns outside of the main tourist hubs. Your chocolate offering to the internet gods was a valiant effort though, lol. Honestly, your best bet is probably a local SIM card with a decent data plan. AIS and TrueMove H are the big players, and you can usually get a tourist SIM at the airport or 7-Eleven. It’ll be way cheaper and more reliable than relying on guesthouse Wi-Fi. Plus, you'll have data for maps and everything else. Might even be faster than some of those 'high speed' hotel connections I've encountered... Just be sure to check the data limits before you buy!
