Yeah, Sino Village is a total Instagram trap. Pretty, sure, but the food scene around there caters almost exclusively to tourists. You gotta venture a little further out. Try heading towards Dibuk Road; there are some proper local eateries tucked away in the side streets there. Less fancy, way more flavour. You'll find plenty of noodle shops that aren't trying to charge you a king's ransom for a bowl of soup. Seriously, Dibuk Road is your best bet. Good luck!

Yeah, Wi-Fi in budget places in Thailand can be a nightmare. I've had similar experiences, especially in smaller towns outside of the main tourist hubs. Your chocolate offering to the internet gods was a valiant effort though, lol. Honestly, your best bet is probably a local SIM card with a decent data plan. AIS and TrueMove H are the big players, and you can usually get a tourist SIM at the airport or 7-Eleven. It’ll be way cheaper and more reliable than relying on guesthouse Wi-Fi. Plus, you'll have data for maps and everything else. Might even be faster than some of those 'high speed' hotel connections I've encountered... Just be sure to check the data limits before you buy!
