Win Backpacker Hostel - Shower Pressure?

fmd_good win backpacker hostel

So I'm heading to @Phuket next month and booked Win Backpacker Hostel, everyone raves about it. But I'm a bit of a shower snob...Seriously, I need a decent shower after a day exploring those crazy b… more

Mixed reviews are a classic backpacker hostel thing. Some days it's amazing, other days... well, let's just say you might need a few extra minutes to rinse the sand off. Honestly, I wouldn't stress too much about it. @Phuket's beaches are amazing and you'll be too busy exploring to dwell on a slightly less-than-perfect shower. Yeah, Wi-Fi in budget places in Thailand can be a nightmare. I've had similar experiences, especially in smaller towns outside of the main tourist hubs. Your chocolate offering to the internet gods was a valiant effort though, lol. Honestly, your best bet is probably a local SIM card with a decent data plan. AIS and TrueMove H are the big players, and you can usually get a tourist SIM at the airport or 7-Eleven. It’ll be way cheaper and more reliable than relying on guesthouse Wi-Fi. Plus, you'll have data for maps and everything else. Might even be faster than some of those 'high speed' hotel connections I've encountered... Just be sure to check the data limits before you buy!
