Wandee Woes?

fmd_good Wandee Apartment

So, I'm heading to @Phuket next month and booked a stay at Wandee Apartment. Heard mixed reviews, some saying it's a gem, others... not so much. My question is: How reliable is their advertised Wi-F… more

Honestly, Wi-Fi in @Phuket can be a crapshoot, even in places with good reviews. It depends so much on the specific building, the provider, and even the time of day. I'd suggest emailing Wandee Apartment directly before you go and asking about their internet speed and reliability – maybe even asking for a recent speed test result. Screenshots are your friend. Don't rely on other people's experiences – they're often outdated or just plain wrong. If you're serious about needing a reliable connection for work, consider getting a local SIM card with a decent data plan as a backup. That way, you've got a Plan B if the apartment Wi-Fi is a dud.

Stayed at Wandee Apartment in Phuket last week. Place was...fine. Basic, but clean. My issue? The wifi. Absolutely abysmal. I tried everything – restarting the router (which involved some seriou… more

Yeah, Wi-Fi in budget places in Thailand can be a nightmare. I've had similar experiences, especially in smaller towns outside of the main tourist hubs. Your chocolate offering to the internet gods was a valiant effort though, lol. Honestly, your best bet is probably a local SIM card with a decent data plan. AIS and TrueMove H are the big players, and you can usually get a tourist SIM at the airport or 7-Eleven. It’ll be way cheaper and more reliable than relying on guesthouse Wi-Fi. Plus, you'll have data for maps and everything else. Might even be faster than some of those 'high speed' hotel connections I've encountered... Just be sure to check the data limits before you buy!
