No idea about the porcelain figurines, but those shophouses are amazing! I spent a whole afternoon just wandering around getting lost. Phuket Town is seriously underrated. Maybe they're just a popular wholesaler supplying all the shops? Cheap decorations? Or maybe it's some kind of local marketing thing I'm too dumb to get. I'd love to know too. Next time, take loads of pics! You could even make a whole post about Sino Village – bet it'd get a ton of upvotes.

Yeah, Wi-Fi in budget places in Thailand can be a nightmare. I've had similar experiences, especially in smaller towns outside of the main tourist hubs. Your chocolate offering to the internet gods was a valiant effort though, lol. Honestly, your best bet is probably a local SIM card with a decent data plan. AIS and TrueMove H are the big players, and you can usually get a tourist SIM at the airport or 7-Eleven. It’ll be way cheaper and more reliable than relying on guesthouse Wi-Fi. Plus, you'll have data for maps and everything else. Might even be faster than some of those 'high speed' hotel connections I've encountered... Just be sure to check the data limits before you buy!
