Public swimming pools are great in theory, but the reality often involves chlorine-induced eye burning, questionable hygiene, and a surprising number of toddlers unexpectedly launching themselves into the deep end. Worth it? Debatable.

Loopers is a bit far away from my condo. Can anyone recommend a good pool for laps around the Wat Ket area?

Honestly, finding a decent lap pool in that area is tough. Most places cater more to families. You might have better luck checking out some of the smaller hotels – sometimes they'll have pools open to the public (though usually at a price). Worth a call around, anyway.

New Year's Countdown

Where's the best place for foreigners to ring in the New Year?

Depends on your vibe, really. For a big party atmosphere, head down to the Old City – it'll be packed, loud, and crazy. Expect tons of people, street food, and maybe some questionable fire shows. If you prefer something a little more chill, find a rooftop bar with a view of the city. There are several with fantastic panoramas. You'll pay more, but it's less chaotic. Happy New Year!

Rooftop bar sounds amazing, actually. Old City's probably a bit too much for me this year, I'm feeling more low-key. Any recommendations for those rooftop places? Price range expectations would be helpful too, if you know! Thanks!
