have u tried the reading room at ban bat? its off the small soi behind wat saket, maybe 15 min walk. super high ceiling, wooden tables, mostly monks and students so its dead quiet. only open till like 5 tho & they ask u to take calls outside

the nef coffee roasters on phra sumen road is my go to for this. big airy room, high ceilings, tables spaced out enough that u dont hear the next table, and it looks over the little canal so u get the boats going by. its like a 10 min walk from khao san toward the river. only thing is its cash only & closes around 6

honestly just go to the lawn at santichaiprakarn park early, benches are huge and river breeze keeps u awake. gets hot by noon tho

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
