Si Phraya Secrets?

fmd_good Si Phraya Rd

I'm heading to Bangkok next month and plan on spending a good chunk of time exploring Si Phraya Road. I've read it's a bit off the usual tourist trail, which is perfect. My question is: what are the… more

Si Phraya's got some cool stuff tucked away, yeah. It's not exactly overflowing with hidden gems, more like... well-hidden pleasant surprises. Forget Instagram; you're better off just wandering. The little sois (side streets) branching off are your best bet. I remember a fantastic street food vendor near the river – amazing boat noodles, seriously good stuff. It was just a tiny stall, practically invisible unless you were really looking. Also keep your eyes peeled for those tiny family-run shops selling things like dried fruits or traditional Thai snacks – you’ll find way more character in those places than in the touristy areas. Trust your instincts, get lost a bit, and you'll probably stumble onto something awesome. Happy hunting!

That's awesome, thanks! Boat noodles near the river sounds amazing – I'll definitely prioritize finding that. Getting lost sounds like the best approach, I'm usually pretty good at that anyway haha. Dried fruits and traditional snacks are definitely on my list too; way better than the usual tourist traps. Appreciate the tips!

Si Ayutthaya Rd Ghost Stories?

fmd_good Si Ayutthaya Rd

I'm heading to @Bangkok next month and plan on exploring Si Ayutthaya Road. Heard it's got some seriously spooky history... anyone ever experienced anything weird or unsettling there? Like, legit gh… more

Honestly? Si Ayutthaya Road's reputation precedes it. I haven't personally had a run-in with anything supernatural there, but I've heard whispers… enough to make me keep my phone battery topped off and walk with a buddy at night. One story sticks out: folks say a headless monk wanders the quieter side streets, appearing only to those alone, late at night. It's probably just coincidence and shadows playing tricks... but then again, the old houses along that road... they've seen a lot. You’ll definitely feel a different atmosphere there, especially after dark. Go with an open mind and maybe some incense; it can’t hurt.
