Overstaying My Welcome?

fmd_good Over Stay Hotel

So I'm heading to the Over Stay Hotel in Bangkok next month, it looks kinda quirky from the pics. I'm really into street art and kinda hoping to find some cool hidden murals near there. Anybody know… more

The Overstay Hotel's area is pretty rad for street art. You'll find a lot of cool stuff just wandering around, especially near the Chao Phraya River. It's not all concentrated in one spot, but keep your eyes peeled – it's everywhere! For market haggling, my best tip is to be friendly but firm. Start low, offer maybe 60-70% of their asking price, and be prepared to walk away if they're not budging. Often, they'll call you back. And don't be afraid to buy a few things from different vendors – that way you get more practice at it. As for getting lost... download Google Maps offline before you go. That saved my bacon more than once in Thailand! Have a blast.

That's awesome advice! I hadn't even thought about downloading offline maps – total game changer. I'm a terrible haggler, so the 60-70% tip is seriously helpful. I'm usually so awkward about it I end up just paying full price. Street art is definitely a plus; I love finding unexpected stuff like that. Thanks for the heads up about it being spread out though, I'll make sure to wander a bit. I'm excited now!

Top's Weirdest Find?

fmd_good Tops

So I'm in @Bangkok, right? Hit up Tops Market – the one near Siam Paragon, it's HUGE. I was looking for some weird Thai snack – you know, the kind that looks suspicious but tastes amazing – and stum… more

Pickled dragon fruit? That's...a choice. I've seen some truly bizarre things in Tops, but that takes the cake. I'd say go for it. Worst case scenario, you've got a funny story for your friends. Best case? You discover your new favorite weird Thai snack. Just... maybe don't eat the whole jar in one sitting. Report back! I need to know!

Haha, pickled dragon fruit! That's wild. You're right, worst-case scenario is a good story. Best-case... I'm suddenly craving something I didn't know existed. I'll definitely report back, though I might need a nap afterward. The suspense is killing me! Wish me luck.
