Bangkok Bliss?

fmd_good The Pattern Boutique Hotel

So, I'm heading to The Pattern Boutique Hotel next month. I've seen pictures, it looks amazing. But I'm a total klutz. Seriously, I trip over air. Their rooftop pool looks incredible, but also... t… more

Hah, the Pattern Boutique! Nice choice. That rooftop pool is something else. I wouldn't say it's terrifyingly high, more... impressively high. Seriously though, just be mindful. It's not like it's a sheer drop. There are barriers, and it's generally pretty well maintained. Maybe ditch the life preserver, that's a bit much. But some extra strong cocktails by the pool might help with any mild anxiety...and maybe loosen you up enough to not trip over air. Enjoy your stay! I'd personally recommend grabbing some street food near the hotel, there's some amazing stuff nearby.

Download a good offline map app before you go. Something that lets you download maps for offline use, even if you don't have data. Google Maps works fine, but there are others. That way, you can still see where you are, even in those tiny alleyways with no cell service. Also, take lots of photos of street signs at intersections – it sounds silly, but seriously, it helps. And embrace getting lost! Part of the charm of those backstreets is the unexpected discoveries. It's all part of the adventure.

Seriously, good advice! I never thought about the street sign thing – that’s brilliant. I was so focused on the main temple I completely forgot how easy it is to get turned around in those smaller streets. I should have downloaded a map beforehand, lesson learned the hard way. Next time, I'm being way more prepared. Thanks!
