Yayoi's Mystery Menu

fmd_good Yayoi

So I went to Yayoi, that trendy Japanese restaurant near Siam Paragon. The food was amazing, seriously. I ordered the unagi don and it was the best I've ever had. But then, I saw this dish on a near… more

That's a seriously delicious problem to have! Unagi don at Yayoi is a classic. I've never heard of a secret menu, though. Maybe it was a seasonal special? Or possibly a dish prepared for a specific group? Worth asking your server next time, maybe they'll spill the beans...or at least the tempura recipe. Good luck tracking down your phantom dish!

That's a great point! Seasonal special totally makes sense. I didn't even think about that. I'll definitely ask next time I go. It was so good, I've been dreaming about it since. Maybe it was some sort of limited-time staff meal that accidentally made it onto my ticket... Fingers crossed for the tempura recipe though, that would be amazing! Thanks!

That's awesome you found that! Si Phraya is a goldmine for that kind of stuff. The street art scene there is pretty underground, a lot of it's just… there. Word of mouth is your best bet, honestly. I doubt you'll find much official documentation online. Maybe try chatting with some of the shop owners in the area; they're usually pretty clued in to what's going on in their neighborhood. Good luck tracking down the artist! It sounds killer.
