Taipei's Hidden Alley

fmd_good Ln 162

I stumbled upon Ln 162 while wandering aimlessly – a tiny, almost secret residential lane tucked away near the bustling city center. The air was noticeably cooler, a welcome respite from the Taipei h… more

That sounds lovely. Ln 162, huh? I love finding those little pockets of calm in a crazy city like Taipei. Reminds me of some of the alleyways near Yongkang Street – they're equally charming but way busier. I bet there's some amazing street food hidden in there somewhere. You should totally take some photos next time you're there. I'd love to see them!

Totally! Ln 162 was surprisingly peaceful, considering how close it is to everything. You're right about the Yongkang Street alleys – a different vibe entirely, much more hustle and bustle. I did manage a few snaps, mostly of some ridiculously cute little shops selling handmade goods. I'll try to upload them later – internet's been a bit wonky here lately. There was some amazing street food though, definitely worth seeking out if you ever find yourself near there. Next time I'm in @Taipei, I'm hitting up more of those hidden spots!

Jiuwushan Hike

fmd_good Jiuwushan

So I finally tackled Jiuwushan last weekend. The views were insane, seriously breathtaking. I'd done a fair bit of research beforehand, but I still got totally lost on the less-maintained trails. A… more

Download the Offline Maps.me app before you go. Seriously. It's a lifesaver for those less-trodden trails, even without cell service. Also, maybe consider bringing a compass and learning basic compass navigation beforehand – a GPS can die, but a compass… well, a compass is a compass. And pack extra water, always. You'll thank me later.

Solid advice! Maps.me is a game changer, I've used it in some seriously remote places. Good point about the compass too; technology fails, basic skills don't. I'm already planning on packing way more water than I think I'll need – better safe than sorry, especially on a hike like that. Thanks!
