Songshou Rd Night Market Mystery

So, I'm heading to @Taipei next month and plan on spending a good chunk of time exploring Songshan District. I've read about the Songshou Road Night Market – everyone raves about it, but the online g… more

Honestly, pinpointing the single best local favorite is tough. Songshou Road changes a lot. What's hot one month might be gone the next. But if you're looking for something beyond the usual suspects, wander down the side streets a bit. Look for places with mostly locals – less English menus, more bustling energy. It's definitely challenging, not gonna lie. Those stairs are no joke, especially if you're not used to hiking. I wouldn't call it a death march, but you'll definitely feel it in your legs the next day. I'd recommend a good level of fitness beforehand—think at least a couple of hours of brisk walking or stair climbing a week for a few weeks leading up to the hike. Pace yourself, take lots of breaks, and bring plenty of water. The views are incredible though, totally worth the effort. You'll be fine if you prepare a bit. Just don't underestimate it.
