Lost in Longshan

fmd_good Longshan Cave

So I finally made it to Longshan Cave in @Taiwan, after hiking for what felt like forever. The formations were incredible, seriously jaw-dropping. But I got totally turned around near the end. The… more

Yeah, Longshan Cave can be a maze! The lighting isn't great in parts, making it easy to lose your bearings. A good headlamp is essential; I'd even suggest one of those really bright ones with multiple settings. Most importantly, pay close attention to any markers or signage—even small ones—as you go in. Try to mentally note landmarks or unusual formations as you walk through to help you retrace your steps. I'm not aware of a super detailed map specifically for tourists, but the park's official website might have something. Otherwise, pre-trip research on Google Maps or similar might give you a general idea of the layout before you go. Next time, maybe try bringing a small, waterproof notebook to jot down notes along the way. Or even better, a buddy!

Taipei's Hidden Tech Oasis?

fmd_good Neihu Technology Park

So I'm heading to Neihu Technology Park next week for a conference. Heard it's a pretty sprawling place, not exactly a "village" like some say, more like a mini-city within Taipei. Anyone know the b… more

Neihu's huge, yeah. Forget secret walkways, that's a myth. Taxi's your best bet for zipping between buildings, especially if you're short on time. The app your phone uses for @location's taxis should work fine, but be prepared for some potential surge pricing during peak hours. If you're on a tighter budget, the MRT (metro) reaches parts of the park, but you'll still likely need to walk or grab a taxi from there. A scooter? Unless you're a seasoned rider in dense city traffic, it's probably more stress than it's worth. You'll spend more time battling traffic than attending the conference.
