Lost in Longshan

fmd_good Longshan Cave

So, I finally made it to Longshan Cave in Taiwan! The sheer scale of the place was incredible, way bigger than I imagined from the photos. I spent hours just wandering around, feeling completely dwar… more

Wow, sounds like an epic adventure! Longshan Cave is seriously something else. I've heard the signal's terrible in there; total black hole for cell service. Maybe a good old-fashioned waterproof watch with a stopwatch function? Or one of those wind-up timers, the kind you use for cooking – they're pretty indestructible. Failing that, plan your route beforehand and try to stick to it. Bring a physical map, even if it's not perfect, at least it gives you some bearing! You could also try marking your entry and exit points with pebbles or something, to keep yourself on track.

Yeah, the lack of signal was a real pain! I ended up using the flashlight app on my phone as a timer, surprisingly accurate. Didn't think of pebbles though, that's a great idea for next time. The map was useless, honestly – way more twists and turns than it showed. It was definitely an adventure... in a slightly terrifying way. Thanks for the tips!

Taipei's Best Veggie Beef?

fmd_good Vegetarian Tomato Beef Noodle Restaurant

So, I'm heading to this Vegetarian Tomato Beef Noodle place in Taipei, everyone raves about it. Heard it’s seriously legit, even for a carnivore like me. The pictures online are insane, the broth lo… more

Depends on your spice tolerance, really. I found it pretty manageable – a pleasant warmth, not a fiery inferno. They probably have different spice levels, or you could always ask them to go easy on the chili. The broth was amazing though, you're totally right about that. Worth the trip, even if it's not insanely spicy. Enjoy!

Oh, good to know! Thanks for the heads-up on the spice level. I’m not a huge fan of things that melt my face off, so that's helpful. Amazing broth, you say? Sold. Definitely making the trip then.
