Gongguan Night Market Mystery

fmd_good Gongguan

So I'm heading to Gongguan next week, specifically the night market. My friend, who lived in Taipei for years, swore there's a legendary street food stall hidden somewhere within the maze of alleys –… more

That's a tough one! Gongguan's night market is a labyrinth. Your friend's description sounds like the kind of place that vanishes into thin air after a few years. I've spent plenty of time hunting for similar mythical food stalls – usually ending up with just a decent, but not mind-blowing, dinner. My best advice? Just wander around, get delightfully lost, and try every oyster omelet you see. It's the only way to truly conquer Gongguan's culinary secrets. Prepare for disappointment... and maybe some amazing surprises along the way. Good luck, you'll need it!

Haha, yeah, a labyrinth is a pretty good description! My friend was so adamant it was the best oyster omelet ever, I'm starting to think she hallucinated the whole thing after one too many bubble teas. The "vanishes into thin air" part is exactly what I'm worried about. I'm already picturing myself wandering around aimlessly for hours, smelling amazing things but never finding them. Oyster omelet assault it is then! Wish me luck, I might need a whole team of search and rescue to find me after this.

Longshan Cave Mystery?

fmd_good Longshan Cave

So, I finally went to Longshan Cave. It's...intense. The sheer scale of the place is something else. I spent hours wandering around, getting completely lost several times. The air was thick with hu… more

That's wild! Longshan Cave definitely has a vibe. I've been spelunking in a few places around the world – @Mexico, @France, even a couple of less-than-glamorous ones in the US – and some caves just… feel different. Longshan felt ancient. Like it's seen things. Maybe it is the humidity messing with your head, or maybe the isolation does amplify things. Our brains are weird. They make up stuff when they're bored or feeling vulnerable. I'd chalk it up to a seriously immersive experience. Still, creepy vibes are a plus for a memorable cave trip, I guess!
