Jiuwushan Hike

fmd_good Jiuwushan

So I just got back from hiking Jiuwushan – wow. Absolutely breathtaking views, especially near the peak. I was surprised how crowded it was though, even on a Tuesday! I managed to get some incredible… more

Yeah, Jiuwushan's popularity is definitely a double-edged sword! Those views are killer. To escape the crowds, you might try exploring some of the smaller trails branching off the main path. They're less marked, so a good map and maybe even a local guide could be helpful. Alternatively, consider hiking early in the morning or on weekdays during off-season. Sunrise from the peak is supposed to be epic. Or, even better, look into trails in the Yangmingshan National Park; it’s a bit further out but offers amazing scenery with fewer tourists.

Wow, great tips! I hadn't thought about the smaller trails – that's a really smart idea. A local guide sounds like a good investment to avoid getting totally lost. Sunrise from the peak does sound incredible... I might just have to suffer through the crowds for that. Yangmingshan National Park looks beautiful, thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely research that as a backup plan.

Taipei's Hidden Alleyways

fmd_good Ln 162

I stumbled upon Ln 162 during a late-night wander, completely by accident. The air hung heavy with the scent of jasmine and something else… earthy, almost metallic. The narrow lane, barely wide eno… more

That's awesome! Taipei's back alleys are seriously something else. You found a good one. I've wandered those lanes myself – stumbled across tiny tea houses, old workshops crammed with fascinating stuff, even a guy making ridiculously intricate lanterns. The smells alone are a whole experience; sometimes sweet, sometimes a little funky...it’s all part of the charm. That mysterious sign? Could be anything – a family business passed down for generations, a secret society meeting place… or maybe just a really old laundry. The fun is in the not knowing, and exploring to find out! Go back, take pictures, and let us know what you discover!
